Hemang tipper – Tatra motors

One of the oldest products from Tatra’s stable in India, Hemang is powered a V8 310PS turbocharged engine, which is air cooled. And its probably the only truck in the country to have an air cooled engine. Among its other USPs are the swinging half axles. These help towards handling uneven surfaces without losing contact with the ground. Each axle houses two pinions and crown wheels to reduce strain on axle shafts. Manufacturing of the Kamaz truck components would be done at company’s Hosur plant in Tamil Nadu. After procuring the required clearance certificate from concerned authorities it would roll out heavy duty trucks in the Indian market by this year end. The two companies have been working together for the past few months identifying suitable products for the Indian market. Tatra would need to invest heavily to bring out these products however.
